Things to Do Near UCF

 

The University of Central Florida is located in Orlando, FL, and has one of the largest enrollments in the country. With such a high student population, Orlando must have a variety of attractions to keep students busy. From amusement parks to paddle boarding, Orlando has it all!

 

  1. Lake Claire

Located on UCF’s campus is the William E. and Mary Jo Davis Recreation Area at Lake Claire. Whether you are looking for a day outside with friends, or a charming date location, Lake Claire is perfect for you. UCF students can rent kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, and other equipment for free. Make sure to check this off your bucket list! 

  1. Firkin & Kegler

In Waterford Lakes, minutes from UCF, is the Firkin & Kegler. A huge bowling alley and entertainment center is perfect for a late night out. An arcade, dance floor, and full bar is packed inside for extra fun! Take advantage of $2 bowling every Tuesday night and other weekly specials to get the most bang for your buck! 

  1. Lake Eola

About 20 minutes from UCF is Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando. Park visitors can ride swan paddle boats, feed ducks, or eat at a variety of restaurants around the lake. Every Sunday from 10am-4pm is the Lake Eola Farmer’s Market. At the event you can find an assortment of items from local businesses such as crafts and local produce. The vendors change every week so keep coming back!  

  1. Kelly Park

Looking for some outdoor fun? A free-flowing natural spring located in Apopka, FL is about 45 minutes from UCF. The park is perfect for tubing down the spring enjoying the Florida sun. You can either rent a tube or bring your own! Park admission is only $3.00 for 1-2 people, $5.00 for 3-8, and $1.00 per additional person or walk-in/motorcycle or bicycle.  Get there early – the park tends to fill up fast!   1. Park Avenue

Park Avenue is located in the heart of Winter Park with stylish boutiques, restaurants, and local finds. It is a popular arts and culture district about 20 minutes from UCF. If you want to window shop, go on a romantic date, or just looking for some high-end cuisine, this is the place for you!

6. Collegiate Village Inn

Right around the corner from UCF is the Collegiate Village Inn. If you are lucky enough to be a resident or have a friend who calls CVI their home, come stop by our pool! You can relax and even enjoy pool side service from our Bistro 106 Express if you are looking for something to eat!
