Staying in and putting on your pajamas sounds great, until it’s the 10th day in a row and you've gone through all of your snacks. Even though watching Netflix or a sports game is always enjoyable, living in a college town is a great place to get out and do things! The city of Orlando offers more than just amusement parks, there are endless attractions you can visit that may even offer you a discount on admission. Here are a few places worth putting down the remote and getting dressed for.

  1. Sea Life Aquarium: 8449 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819

The Sea Life Aquarium does not offer a student discount on their end but UCF does give students an $8 discount when purchased at the Student Ticket Center. Sea Life features over 5,000 different species from the oceans all over the world. Only a short 30 minute drive from CVI, it’s a great place to play and learn at the same time!

 

  1. Andretti Indoor Karting & Games: 9299 Universal Blvd, Orlando, FL 32819

With only a few locations across the country, Andretti Indoor Karting & Games offers a variety of activities to take part in on your visit. From laser tag to arcade games and bowling there’s plenty of options for everyone. Their main feature is the indoor racing! Prices range from $5 to $30 and they all depend on what the activity is.

 

  1. Joysticks Arcade Lounge: 69 E Pine St, Orlando, FL 32801

For those of you who are of legal age to drink, Joysticks is a one of a kind gaming center and lounge all in one. With different specials for each night of the week, Joysticks always ensures you get your money’s worth. The arcade games they have on site take you back to the 80s and 90s.

 

  1. Wekiva Springs: 1014 Miami springs Dr, Longwood, FL 32779

One of Orlando’s hottest hangouts is actually one of its best places to cool off! Wekiva Island is among the best watering hole in Central Florida with activities including canoeing, paddle boarding and kayaking. For those who would rather stay dry there are activities such as volleyball, cornhole and a bar to hang out at. Prices vary by activity but those just looking to relax only have to worry about parking.

 

If all else fails, this is Orlando so why not act like a tourist and hit the many amusement parks in the city or even enjoy a night at Disney Springs with friends!
